Ghana’s TVET Expansion Is Outpacing Institutional Capacity, Survey Finds
A survey across 14 regions reports inadequate equipment and weak workplace-experience completion despite higher enrolment.
Access to technical and vocational education in Ghana is growing faster than many institutions can absorb, according to a sector survey reported by Graphic Online. Ninety per cent of participating institutional leaders described training equipment as inadequate, while workplace-experience completion remained uneven. The findings suggest that free access policies can raise enrolment without automatically improving training quality or employment outcomes. The next phase of TVET reform will require more equipment, stronger employer partnerships and sustainable financing for practical learning.
