WHO Reviews Response to the Ebola Bundibugyo Outbreak in DR Congo
An international emergency committee has reassessed the outbreak and issued temporary recommendations under the International Health Regulations.
The World Health Organization has published the report of a second International Health Regulations Emergency Committee meeting on the Ebola Bundibugyo outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The committee met on 18 August to reassess the epidemic and advise the WHO Director-General on temporary recommendations. The process brings together public-health experts to review transmission, response capacity, cross-border risk and the measures needed to contain the outbreak.
Effective Ebola control depends on rapid case detection, safe clinical care, laboratory capacity, contact tracing and sustained trust with affected communities. NewsRena will continue to distinguish official health guidance from preliminary or unverified claims circulating online.
