Search launched after reported abduction on Eruku–Iyemero route

A couple and four other travellers were reported abducted on the Eruku–Iyemero route after an engagement ceremony in Eruku, Kwara State, on 26 September. Premium Times published the account on 28 September.

The report, citing Channels Television and Kwara police commissioner Adekimi Ojo, said security agencies had begun a joint search. It described cooperation involving Kwara, Kogi and Ekiti, while noting that some details remained unclear on Sunday.

This is an ongoing incident. The reviewed report did not establish the victims’ release or the identity of their abductors. Readers should distinguish the confirmed police search from unverified claims about responsibility or the travellers’ whereabouts.
