Ikole Ekiti trainees receive tools after NASENI solar skills programme

NASENI has trained 100 young people from Ikole Ekiti and nearby communities in solar installation and maintenance, according to a Techeconomy report published on 26 September. The week-long programme concluded the previous day.

Participants received equipment including electrical toolboxes, protective clothing, cordless drills and testing tools. Community representatives urged them to retain and use the materials rather than sell them.

A traditional leader also called for monitoring of trainees’ progress. That follow-up matters when assessing the initiative: attendance and equipment distribution are documented outputs, while sustained employment, safe installation work and business income would require further evidence.
