Kano records 74,413 candidates with key NECO credits
The reported lead concerns the number achieving five credits, including English and Mathematics.
Kano recorded 74,413 candidates with at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics in the 2026 NECO senior school examination, Voice of Nigeria reported on 27 September. The corresponding totals reported for Lagos and Oyo were 72,496 and 55,543.
The figures describe successful-candidate counts. They should not be read as state pass rates without the number of candidates who sat the examination in each state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf welcomed the result and said the administration would continue supporting education. The state also cited examination sponsorship among its interventions. A count-based ranking alone cannot establish which intervention caused the outcome.
