Daura primary teacher receives Katsina teaching award

Katsina State has recognised Hadiza Nazifi of Bayajidda Memorial Primary School in Daura as its best-performing primary teacher for 2026, THISDAY reported on 28 September. She received a Peugeot 206 from the State Universal Basic Education Board.

Board chairman Kabir Magaji said an award committee and internal and external evaluators endorsed her selection. He cited commitment to teaching, punctuality and diligence among the reasons for the recognition.

The presentation also included an appeal to teachers to maintain attendance and professional standards. The report identifies an individual award; it does not provide an independent assessment of learning outcomes across the state’s schools.
