Enugu commission announces APC sweep of council seats
The declaration covers 17 chairmanships and 260 councillorships from Saturday’s election.
The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission has declared APC candidates winners of all 17 chairmanships and 260 councillorships in the state’s local government election. Premium Times reported the results on 28 September.
Commission chairman Christian Ngwu announced the outcome on Sunday following Saturday’s voting. The newspaper’s review found that 12 chairmen-elect were returning for another term, while five were newly elected. It also reported the issue of certificates of return to the chairmen-elect.
The totals are the commission’s declaration. They should be distinguished from an independent assessment of turnout or the voting process, which the reviewed result report does not provide.
