Yobe commission declares APC winner of all 17 council chairmanships
ADP and APP won the two councillorship seats not taken by the ruling party, the commission said.
Yobe’s electoral commission has declared APC candidates winners of all 17 chairmanship seats in the state’s 26 September local government election. Channels Television reported that commission chairman Ibrahim Yabani announced the results on Sunday.
The commission also awarded the APC 176 of the 178 councillorship seats. The remaining two went to the ADP and APP in Fune and Karasuwa local government areas, according to its announcement. Ten parties participated in the exercise.
These are the results declared by the state commission. The reported announcement does not supply ward-level turnout figures or an independent assessment of the entire voting process.
