A Taraba State task force says it arrested eight people during operations against suspected illegal mining in Bali Local Government Area on 27 September. Premium Times reported the account the following day, citing mining adviser Auwal Mohammed.

The operation covered areas around Kusum, Badakoshi and Mayo Kam. Officials said equipment was seized and vehicles carrying mining machinery were intercepted. They also said difficult terrain meant only part of the equipment could immediately be removed, with personnel assigned to secure the remainder.

The suspects remained under investigation in the reported account. Arrests and official allegations do not establish guilt, and the report did not identify convictions arising from these raids.
